Seattle had a particularly astounding game; with Sue Bird’s three-pointers as well as a 13-0 run in the third overtime, Seattle ended the game with a 98-87 victory.
This is the third consecutive victory for the Storm, as well as one of the most exciting games this season.
In most of the first quarter of the game, both teams managed to take even control of the action. By the end of the first quarter, however, Kristi Harrower’s three-pointer gave the Sparks the lead 16-14. In the second quarter, Seattle managed to tie the score on two occasions, but after LA’s Tina Thompson and Delisha Milton-Jones threw several great shots, the Storm were left behind by 6 by halftime.
The Storm entered the third with greater aggression, as did the Sparks, who tried to maintain their lead. However, several baskets by Seattle with 3:04 left gave the team a chance to tie the game. Then a shot by Candice Parker at the end of the quarter gave Los Angeles the lead 53-52.
By the final quarter, the game had intensified, with both teams battling during the entire quarter. With 48.3 seconds left on the clock, Seattle seemed set to win 67-66; however, Tanisha Wright fouled Noelle Quinn, who made just one free throw and tied the game. The Storm had one more chance to score with 33.3 seconds left, but Bird missed the three-pointer and the game ended with a tie at 67-67.

“It was a matter of us having mental breakdowns. It was about us executing on both ends of the floor, and in the crucial moments, we weren't doing that. And that' been the thorn in our side for a lot of the losses we've had this year," said Milton-Jones.
