Raúl González Blanco, the well known Spanish forward officially retires from the Real Madrid, the soccer team for who he played all his professional career of 16 years.

Raul’s retirement represents an important moment in the team’s history. He is not only a world class striker, but he is going to be one of those players always associated with the Real Madrid’s team. Perhaps, only the great Alfredo Di Stéfano is so well remembered by the team’s fans.

With the team, Raúl managed to win 6 La Liga championships, 4 Spain Supercopas, 2 International Cups, and 3 UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and many other personal achievements. This is by far one of the most beloved players by the franchise and its fans.

Raul has deserved every bit of admiration from fans and the team managers and organization. He is a player that has always showed his best at every game, on and off the field. The striker is well known for his courage, and his positive attitude that has allowed him to make it very far inside on of Spain’s most prestigious teams. It can be said, after so many years, the player has grown very fond of his team.

Even though he might not have the talents, the presence of other great figures that have played next to him, like Zinedine Zidane, the potent defender Roberto Carlos, or the great Ronaldo. Raul began his professional career at Real Madrid back when he was 17 years old. He played against Zaragoza in his first ever appearance. He has been quite a flawless stricker.

Raul has scored 228 goals in La Liga, 25 in the Copa del Rey and 69 in other random European tournaments. He has proved to be quite talented, not only scoring, but also organizing and fulfilling other duties for the team. He has always been very courageous when playing against his rivals.

After a long career on the team, Raul has said the team is never going to part from his heart.. Raul does not see his departure from Madrid as a complete disengagement; he keeps his plans to return someday to the institution that has seen him grow.

Many believe that he would not have kept good harmony with the new coach. Raul himself has come out to say that the new coach’s arrival to the team has nothing to do with his decision to retire. He just believes that he has done his part in this team, and that it is time to give it an end.

The ex-captain of the Real Madrid will keep playing, trying to finish his career somewhere else. The 33-year-old striker keeps a positive attitude towards his professional and personal future.
