Soccer- Inter Wins the UEFA Champions League after Beating Bayern Munich

Inter Milan was crowned the new champion of the UEFA Championship League 2010 after beating Bayern Munich in the grand finale by a score of 2-0. Diego Milito was the great figure by scoring the two goals to claim the title for the Inter Milan.

Inter Milan recovered the title forty-five years after its last European Championship driven by the talent and the success of the Argentine striker Diego Milito. He will be the new hero in this great event in Italian team’s history.

This is the second title for Inter coach José Mourinho, who thanks to his victory in 2004 with FC Porto joins Ottmar Hitzfeld and Ernst Happel as the only coaches who have won the title with two different clubs.

This match had no clear favorite before kickoff. This was a very close match with few appearances in the areas between the two teams.

34 minutes into the game a long pass from goalkeeper Julio Cesar was well received by the Argentinean Diego Milito, who made a fast pass play with the Dutchman Wesley Sneijder and the Argentinean scored in front of Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Hans-Jorg Butt to put the scoreboard 1-0 in favor of Inter.

Inter controlled its area with order, discipline and an almost impassable defense. The team implemented its offense with counterattacks.

The German team on the other hand tried to surpass Inter´s defense by controlling the ball but the Nerazurri were so strong that it was difficult for Bayern to enter their area. At the end of the first half Inter had a 1-0 advantage.

Well into the second half, Bayern had the chance to change the face of the great European final. Hamit Altintop combined with Müller in a great play, but the figure of Inter’s goalkeeper Julio Cesar appeared to stop their attempt.

After that play the German team kept attacking constantly. Milan stood up and waited.

The second opportunity for the Nerazurri came at the 70th minute, when Milito received a pass from Samuel Eto'o outside the area. The Argentinean faced the defender Daniel van Buyten. Milito broke in and beat the Belgian defender, who was lying on the floor looking as Milito shot pass Butt for the 2-0.

After this second goal the illusions of the red and white team faded minute by minute. At the end, Inter was the fair winner with the two great goals of Milito and quite an incredible defense.

At the end of the game the Argentinean was even happier for the achievement of his team then for his two goals.

"It's a joy I've never experienced. Incredible. I am so happy for Inter because we wanted this so badly. We are so happy and it's a unique sensation. Football always gives the chance for redemption. I always fought hard and tried to give my all and learn as much as I could, even though I'm 30," expressed Milito.

On the other hand, Inter Coach Jose Mourihno said he was sad to leave Inter because is a great club, but is hoping for great achievements in his professional career as a coach, He wants to become the only coach to win the UEFA Champions League with three different teams.

“This makes me feel really sad. I've become part of Inter's history and I don't want to talk about anything else. If I talk about it, I'll cry, and I don't want to do that. If I go, it will be because Real is an enormous club that wants the same things I want — just like what Inter wanted. I want to become the only coach to win the Champions League with three different clubs. I like tough challenges in my career," stated Mourihno.
