WTA Tennis- Serena Williams Advances to the Second Round at Roland Garros
The American and world No.1 tennis player, Serena Williams, successfully solved her first match of the second Grand Slam of the season, Roland Garros, after winning in straight sets to Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele.

At the end of the match, Serena Williams stated she was shocked about Voegele’s performance and gave credit to the young player’s effort. But she also said she was happy do get the triumph after a not so good performance.
“I definitely didn’t feel good about it. I’m doing so well in practice, and it just didn’t work for me today. So with that being said, I’m happy to win and just go on to the next round,” said Serena Williams.
Also the American alleged that despite not participating in the tournaments in the season due to injuries she is focused on the Grand Slams and not in what people said inside and outside the WTA circuit.
“It’s always something, you know. If you’re winning Slams, you don’t care about the other ones. If you win the other ones, then you can’t win Grand Slams. It’s a win-win or lose-lose situation. With this victory, now the American will face the German Julia Georges in the next round. Georges beat Hungarian Melinda Czink with a score of 6-2 6-3.
The current WTA world No.1 and champion in Paris in 2002 has a main objective: the trophy on June 5. The American has won four of the last six Grand Slam titles.
