Yo, I was at the Kinetic Sculpture Derby and Trenton Ave Arts Festival for like five hours. Lots of people to photograph, but the place was so packed I only did some street creepin. Finally once things started to wind down and I was beginning to become visually accustomed to all the styles flashing around, I caught sight of this person, who was like a lovely pop mermaid to me. The glasses struck me as completely effortless, not goofy, and complimentary to her face, hair, and general persona. Not to mention an awesome bold pattern for a maxi dress, which I think most people either don’t consider or are too cautious to wear. But let’s hear about this from the person themself, shall we short homecoming dresses ?

“My name is Alissa. I am twenty-five years old, my hometown is Hopewell, New Jersey. I live a couple blocks down, right on Susquehanna Ave, so it’s very convenient. I’m actually selling some of my upcycled jewelry right down here. I’m getting some pizza on a little break right now.”

Do you wanna shout-out your jewelry?

“I actually end up making stuff from old material, and I am selling it through Orgotton, this organic clothing line that makes their own screen prints and everything.”

Cool. So this as about style — as far as living in Philly informal bridal dresses informal bridal dresses, how do you feel about the way people dress here? Is there anything that inspires you or bugs you or… bridesmaid dresses cute summer dresses cute summer dresses? wedding dresses red

“I do notice more of like a hipster kind of trend in certain neighborhood areas, specifically Fishtown. And I mean, I think it’s very cool, bridal dresses the whole vintage, bringing back old fashion and style and all of that, but a lot of times, I dunno… I see a lot of different things. Everything inspires me, but I don’t really know if there’s anything specific, I have to say. It’s just kind of like create your own style and get inspired by other things and, you know, incorporate old and new and make your own stuff and think sustainable… Yeah.&#8221 white dresses ;

Do you take any — I don’t like using ‘inspiration’ cause it’s a shallow word to me, but are there things you consume, maybe the media or activities, that affect that way you want to dress and present yourself to people?

&#8220 sexy black dresses sexy black dresses;I do appreciate nature and colors, and I’m an artist as well, so I try to incorporate an earthy look, with vibrance and… I dunno evening dresses evening dresses, something that kinda stands on its own. I can’t really think of anything off the top of my head.”

Are you wearing something that’s your favorite right now?

“This is a necklace that I made, out of vintage lace and old clothing that I was about to throw out cause I just organized my closet. That’s actually why I’m here, cause I just made this and I kinda wanted to spread the message of ‘remake the way you make things’ and, you know, teach people to inspire change in different ways.”

Do you have anything that you wish people would stop wearing? Or wear more of?

“Ahh… Stop wearing… I’m trying to think. I dunno. Maybe girls that dress for guys, maybe exploiting themselves in the kind of way where they think that’s attractive? So really skanky clothing and, you know, showing that kind of insecurity and not really speaking for themselves. That kind of pisses me off. But other than that, I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. I’m sure after I’ll think about it and come up with stuff. But yeah, I guess that’s the only thing I can think of.”

Do you have a current obsession?

“Jewelry making… I dunno — I think I obsess over everything. Everything, red carpet I take into consideration as an inspiration or some kind of creative outlet and all that good stuff.”
