For many short sexy dresses , Memorial Day is a time to remember those who have
fallen in the line of duty and given their lives for others'
freedom.

The VFW Post 4149 has built the first memorial and prayer chapel
across the United States to give its members and the public a place
to remember, reflect and pray.

"It's for the past or active military to come in and reflect on
a lost or loved one or to be left alone to meditate," said past
commander Dal Davis.

The post has been planning the design of the chapel for a few
years now. Members took recent donations and purchased supplies to
build the room. It's in the old canteen area. Walking in through
the original red door that once led into the bar area, there's now
a front shelf in front of the stained glass window with a visitors
book and a box that holds prayer requests.

Where the old pool table used to sit are now 10 seats set up
like pews facing the front wall. The room has undergone a complete
metamorphosis white evening gowns , Davis said.

Inside the room, Midland artist Calvin Hudgins, who painted the
mural on the outside of the building cocktail dresses cocktail dresses, has begun painting a picture
on the center wall that serves as the main focal point of the
room.

there," the mural depicts a group of soldiers who are huddled
together in prayer as the skies open above them and the sun shines
down.

Hudgins said he designed the image to be so simple that visitors
won't have to read into it.

"You can walk in and see those guys and remember doing that
yourself wedding dresses graduation dresses graduation dresses," Davis said. "One time in your life over there you're
going to do that."

The post plans to have the chapel completed and opened by
mid-June. It will be available whenever the canteen is open,
usually from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day, for anyone who wants to
stop by and take a moment to reflect.

There are 10 chairs set up in the small space. While it's not a
large room by any means and cannot accommodate a party or
celebration, Davis does think that someone might want to use it one
day for a small wedding.

Hudgins has been painting the mural so far for five days and
hopes to have it completed this week. Other decorations in the
chapel include a flag that was flown at a base camp overseas and
has been donated from Operation Iraqi Freedom, girls party dresses girls party dresses along with about 10
wooden decorative crosses that Davis said he's been collecting
since they talked about having the chapel.

"We have 14 Gold Star parents and many members who are Blue
Stars. So many people have lost or have kids in there now who may
be in harm's way. The parents now have a place to come," Davis
said.

Staff also plan to build a patio area outside where bricks
dedicated in memory of a military serviceman or woman will be laid.
Those who come to reflect in the chapel will have the chance to
then go out to the patio afterwards.

Every time he walks into the chapel, Davis said he's very proud
of it and gets chills. A dedication service was held last week to
honor the opening of it and hundreds of individuals gathered to
come and view it. Davis said everyone felt comfortable in it and
when they left, no one had a dry eye.

Memorial Day is a time to remember, Davis said black prom dresses , and added that
he hopes those who come to use the chapel will do so just because
they need a place to reflect.

"It's a day of remembering our fallen. Somebody paid the price
for all of this," he said.
