Feng Shui Practice
This article which you are about to read has been written because of a growing interest in this subject all around the world, and I hope that by reading this you will have a few of your questions answered.
A belief, a system or a dogma that has existed, survived and is still in popular use today is worth taking a second look at. To dismiss them would simply be idiotic as many already have, and have proven nothing aside from making it known that they do not cotton onto the obvious.
There will always be the skeptics and believe me, they have had their share of helping issues to be advertised freely and more forcefully since once they have committed their emotions into fighting against something it happens that they become even more vocal than the adherents. It is true with religions, ideologies, new inventions and discoveries and yes, even Feng shui.
Picnic Tables Are Still In Style After Labor Day
A warm, sunny, autumn day can be gorgeous, refreshing, invigorating, and exciting. It may evoke feelings of nostalgia, as you remember the thrill of finding the perfect Halloween pumpkin on just such a day in your childhood. It may make you adventurous, as it sparks the urge to hike through the woods, reveling in the vibrant colors of the foliage. Indeed, it can conjure many emotions. Unfortunately, however, in many people, it causes twinges of regret, as they gaze wistfully at the glorious day, wishing that they had not put their picnic tables away for the winter.
That’s what you’re supposed to do, right? It’s a tradition. After the end of September, at the latest, all picnics must be tabled until next Memorial Day, because, left outside, exposed to the elements, the old picnic table soon won’t have a leg to stand on.
Why Does a Witch Dress Like a Witch?
Double, double, toil and trouble…” McBeth, Shakespeare’s tale of murder and mayhem, is about a battle, with lots of murder and mayhem. Shakespeare adds witches to raise the fight to a supernatural level. Witches in Shakespeare’s day were a frightening symbol of evil, flying with demons in front of the moon.
During the Salem Witch Trials. when America was new, the witches were considered very evil. Now, looking back, we think of the "witches" as victims and the Judges and Ministers as the evil villains! What a change in the world! Once, the world was looked at as a combat between supernatural evil and good.
An Overview On Costumes
Sometimes the term costume can refer to wardrobe and dress in general, or to the distinctive style of dress of a particular people, class, or period of time. It can also refer to the artistic arrangement of accessories in a picture, statue, poem, or play, appropriate to the time, place, or other circumstances represented or described, or to a particular style of clothing worn to portray the wearer as a character or type of character other than their regular persona at a social event such as a masquerade, a fancy dress party or in an artistic theatrical performance. There are many events that occur during the year that offer one the opportunity to wear a costume including Halloween and Mardi Gras.
Jerusalem Oh Jerusalem
Jerusalem over the centuries has been the battleground and the home of Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even Romans who eventually destroyed the city. During the tribulation there will come to this part of the world two prophets. These will have the power and the presence of God with them. They will speak the oracles of the Lord Jesus Christ as they put out a message of salvation to the world. These two prophets who many consider to be Enoch and Elijah will be able to have power to bring down fire upon their enemies. No one will be able to overcome them until they finish their testimony. So hated these two will be that when they finish their message the world will literally rejoice and send presents because they will be dead.
What Ireland Is Known For By Most
Ask anyone what they think of when they think of Ireland and they will probably tell you leprechauns, shamrocks, or St. Patrick's Day. Ireland actually has a lot more to offer not the least of which is some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet from rolling hills to beautiful beaches with crystal blue-green water. But let's take a look at the fun stuff.
Leprechauns are very small sprites said to be about a foot tall who sometimes live in farmhouses or wine cellars. They are known to aid humans and perform small labors for them. Sometimes they ask humans for supplies and furniture, for which in return they give objects which bring luck and fortune. Leprechauns are called fairy cobblers, for they make shoes for elves (but always one shoe, never a pair). They are seen quite often by humans and are described as merry little fellows gaily dressed in old-fashioned clothes; green, with a red cap, leather apron, and buckled shoes.
The Menorah
The menorah is used during the eight day celebration of Hanukkah. The Hebrew word for menorah is Hanukiyah. Some people also call it a candelabra or candelabrum.
Hanukkah is celebrated each year on the 25th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev. Depending on when that date falls, Hanukkah is celebrated in late November or early December.
The first menorah had seven branches. Each branch symbolized one day of the week and it burned olive oil. The second menorah also had seven branches, but when the first and second Temples were destroyed seven branched menorahs were no longer used. Seven branched menorahs are available in today's modern times though, in honor of and as a reminder of the first menorah.
East Meets West -- Chinatowns of the World
China has a long and rich history of exploration and migration around the world. In fact, according to the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission, at the end of 1999, there were 34,505,000 Chinese people living in countries around the world.
The word "Chinatown" in Chinese means "The Street of the Tang People", with Tang referring to the Tang Dynasty, a period of Chinese history regarded by many people as the pinnacle in the Chinese civilization.
For many Chinese people, the original Chinatowns around the world were not started out of choice, but because of racial segregation, and oppression. In other places, they were created to bring a sense of home and community to strangers in a new land.
