Burn-off the Fat
Keeping your weight down to a good level is something that seems to be beyond a lot of people. There are dozens of methods out there that supposedly help you cut down on your weight, ranging from crash diets involving quirky food, to medications designed to burn off fat, to radical new age psychic methods of self hypnosis for fat burning.
Okay, fine. Reality check... you can't wish and vibrate fat away, and miracle pills might work, but they generally have unhealthy side effects. If you really want to keep your weight down and do it in a healthy fashion, you have to work for it. And that involves the one weight loss method that is actually the most effective but the one that a vast majority of people dread: Exercise!
Five Tips to Stop Getting Fat!
The average person puts on between five and ten pounds a year. And let's face it, dieting stinks. Here are five tips to help you keep the weight off. If you don't think you are in the right frame of mind to implement all five right away then pick one today, right now, and just get started. No matter how you go about your weight loss journey, you have to remember to HAVE FUN or you will just continue to pile on the pounds.
1. Attitude IS Everything
If you went into last year's holiday season thinking you could eat like a wolverine and worry about it in January, well, how's that working out? Swimsuit season is right around the corner. It is now time to get your mind right and realize you’re not as young as you used to be, it's going to take effort to get the weight off and you need to put down the cheesecake and go for a walk.
Ideal Bodyweight - Smaller Butt or Younger Face?
There is an old cliché that unfortunately is true. When it comes to losing weight, an older woman will have to choose between saving "her butt or her face." This refers to the idea that if you lose too much weight your face may look more haggard and wrinkles may be emphasized. You could get rid of a double chin and end up with a flapping turkey neck instead.
Jowls that have lost their pads of fat could hang and gaunter cheekbones could create a ghoulish or wolfish look on an older face. Eyes could appear more sunken and the skin could lose its dewy sense of tautness. Often older faces that have lost too much weight appear cadaverous or as if they are continually remembering the pain part of another old expression "no pain no gain."
A Cheap Gym Alternative
Have you ever found yourself saying that you just don't have time to get to the gym in the morning before work or in the evening after work? If only you had your own home gym. I am sure many of you have thought about building a home gym but again with the excuses. Home gyms are so expensive. Home gyms require so much more space. Where will I put all of the equipment?
Treadmill Running Tips
Running is a beautiful way to get fit. It is so simple and so basic, and while it can be difficult at first, the rewards come quickly to those who persist.
Running is also one of the most efficient ways to burn calories. As a cardiovascular exercise, it reduces the risk of certain diseases, strengthens the heart and lungs, and boosts confidence and energy.
Many runners are so hooked that it is a real bummer when we get too busy or when bad weather moves in and we have to take a day or two off. That is when many runners turn to the treadmill, which can be used any time of day and during any season.
Are Natural Hormone Products Hype Or Helpful?
One of the more common questions I get relates to hormones. How do you handle the onset and aftermath of menopause? What about "male menopause", or andropause? Are there products out there that will help boost hormones naturally? What about products to help with the physical symptoms of these hormonal declines? More over, can I avoid this process?
The sooner you accept it, the better your post-40 life will become:
You have more control over your hormones than you believe.
I can quote you endless studies that prove that regular exercise (the more intense the better) stimulates and keeps hormone levels naturally elevated. Exercise also delays the process of menopause in many women - and, without a doubt, lessens the symptoms. Growth hormone is practically dependent upon a proper nutrition plan and exercise routine.
This Will Make You Exercise
I still hate to exercise sometimes.
Some mornings I wake up knowing that if I exercise at all, it's going to be a chore getting myself to the gym. I don't know why I'm this way.
Sometimes, it's probably just exhaustion. Other times, it's the anxiety of getting everything done and not being able to sort out when is the best time to exercise.
Sometimes, I'm not in the mood to sweat. But I say to myself, "Well, tough. You chose to have weight loss surgery and lose 190 pounds. This new life has set you free. So get moving."
A Critical Tool
One thing I have learned and taken to heart is that exercise is critical to maintaining my weight loss.
Pre-Workout Ramblings From A Dedicated Bodybuilder
It's exactly 5:55pm. I'm sitting in front of my computer, choking down a bowl of tuna. I have a bottle of water beside me and am preparing for my 7pm workout: back and biceps.
I don't particularly enjoy the taste of tuna; in fact, I don't like it in the least. But one can provides me with 30 grams of solid muscle-building protein, and that's why I eat it. I don't eat it for the taste; I eat it for the effect. And nothing tastes better than looking in the mirror to see massive, ripped muscles. I want a physique that demands respect, and I'll do whatever I need to get it.
As I sit here and write this, my stomach churns with butterflies. Why? It's because tonight I must put forth the best back and bicep workout I've ever performed. If I don't, I will not grow, plain and simple. The entire basis for gaining muscle size and strength is progression, and if I don't progress, I'll have to wait an entire week to get another chance. I have to be better than I've ever been in my entire life, and if I fail, my muscle growth will stagnate.
Having Fun With Trampolines
A trampoline is essentially a gymnastic and recreational equipment made of a steel frame with a piece of taut, strong fabric stretched over it using coiled springs as anchors. The attached fabric or strong canvas sheet is used for tumbling. Innovative trampolines are made of dense net, stretched elastically on a frame of varied shapes. Durable materials like tarpaulin are often used as an alternative to nets.
Trampoline inherited its name from the Spanish "trampolÃÂn" meaning a diving board. Trampolines were first used by the Eskimos who used to toss one another up into the air on walrus skins. The first modern trampoline was built by Larry Griswold and George Nissen in 1934. They later established the Griswold-Nissen Trampoline and Tumbling Company in 1942 and began making trampolines commercially in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Massive Shoulders In A Matter Of Minutes
If you're looking to develop an impressive, muscular physique, well-developed shoulders are an absolute must. Thick, round "cannon ball delts" will make your upper body appear wide and powerful and will help immensely in creating the v-tapered look that all bodybuilders strive for. Many serious lifters will argue that underneath clothes, muscular shoulders make the greatest contribution toward the overall appearance of the upper body.
The shoulder is a 3-headed muscle that performs the function of lifting and rotating the arm. It consists of the anterior region (the front), the medial region (the middle) and the posterior region (the rear). These heads can be stimulated in the gym using two different movements: an overhead press and a raise.
