English Premier League- Manchester United getting closer to Chelsea

Manchester United defeated Hull City 3-1 in the 19th round of the English Premier League. With this victory, the Manchester United team adds 3 more points and now has 40 points to close down its difference with Chelsea. After Chelsea’s last 2-1 victory over Fulham, The Blues lead the English League with 45 points.

In the Red Devils’ visit to the KC Stadium, the team made it quite clear it was not going to hold back in its effort to close the gap on the Blues. The Red Devils fought with all their might as they are seeking their fourth consecutive title.

In their match against Manchester United, the Tigers tried to deploy their best strategy. Both teams played some fierce defense, making it hard to open up the score.

Manchester’s forward Wayne Rooney had a chance to show off his talent. The Englishman took the ball, pushed full speed ahead, and broke into Hull City’s penalty area, from which he made a phenomenal kick to score just before half time.

The second half was just as intense. The team coached by Sir Alex Ferguson tried to control the match’s rhythm. 59 minutes into the game, Wayne Rooney fouled Craig Fagan inside his own penalty area. Fagan himself was in charge of making the penalty shot to tie the game.

Just a couple minutes later, Rooney got in the spotlight once more. He attacked through the side and then made a great shot. Hull City’s defense Andy Dawson interrupted the ball’s trajectory and sent the ball into his own goal. This brought the 2-1 advantage to the visiting team.

82 minutes into the game, Manchester United completed its third goal, with Dimitar Berbatov, with Rooney’s help, scoring. With this pass, Rooney became the most valuable player of the game. His active participation in Manchester’s three goals redeemed his early game penalty foul.

Manchester United once more proved why it’s such a great team. If it keeps its good work, the team could very well be fighting for another championship. On the other side, Hull City is showing its weak spots, and now faces the chance of being relegated to the English Championship League.
